That Word
That Word
I have been looking at L'Oreal and upscale cosmetic brands. Did you know that L'Oreal has been 'L'Orealing since 1902? That is a long time to be in business and a long time to be in cosmetics.
And, the other cosmetic brands they own, that a lot of reviewers consider L'Oreal's products to be a "dupe" to theirs, are baby cosmetic brands by comparison. This is a small list of brands that they bought-
Urban Decay
LancĂ´me
Maybelline
NYX Cosmetics
And, that list is just the beginning.
IF we were going to call a brand a dupe, those brands would be that to L'Oreal. L'Oreal has been a strong, and trusted cosmetics company for over one hundred years. Many a customer has great things to say about this brand. And, they have been faithfully serving the cosmetics world for years.
For many, they have been the go-to brand. And, frankly, that's true. They are the go-to. They have a great product that works. Their name is great. Everyone knows that if the brand is L'Oreal, it's going to be everything it claims. Their company is excellent.
I posting some stats about L'Oreal that also has some of the companies they own. It is a disservice to L'Oreal to call them a dupe -ever. They were here a long time before the other 'upscale' brands got here. And, now, L'Oreal owns most of them.
L'Oreal is no dupe to any upscale brand. And, what's more, we have the original in the lower-end department store. They decided to stay lower-end so the consumer could get great cosmetics at a great low price.
And, this isn't just about L'Oreal, Revlon started in 1932, and while Covergirl is a new company that started in 1962, they are still a staple and have been in the cosmetics world a long time before a lot of 'upscale' cosmetics brands were here.
Then there is Maybelline that started in 1914. L'Oreal does own Maybelline. They acquired Maybelline in 1996. These brands are not a dupe to any brand.

Alright, Everyone, that is all for now. I'm working on some things and I have a lot in the works. A lot is coming your way so stay tuned. Thank you for reading and I will see you in my next post.
